Group Blog

Welcome back! Today I will be talking about my group and why I chose to work with them for this final task short film. For the commercial and the music video, I filmed with the same group I will be filming with for the short film. I am super excited to be filming with this group because they are good company and are very hard workers. The people in my group are Marlo, Omnia, and Harley. Omnia has been a good friend of mine since middle school. She is so creative and talented and never fails to be there when I need her. Marlo, I met as a freshman and we became friends instantly. My group and I really enjoy each others company and compliment each others personalities so well. As for Harley, we became friends this year. She has been there for me through so much and always has the best ideas for everything. All of these girls have a very strong work drive just like me, which makes us a really good group. My group and I are also a very diverse group of people, making us generate so many ideas and topics that coinside nicely together. I am really excited to work with these girls because it is always a fun time talking to each and every one of them. My group all gets along very well and are able to subside any disagreements or arguments that can occur. I am most excited to have to hangout with them in order to film this final task short film. My group will all have a very big role in creating this short film, so we plan to divide the work evenly and overcome it together while having fun. My group and I have already been brainstorming a bunch of ideas for this short film. Thinking of what roles each of us want to do for this short film has been talked about a lot. My group and I will start figuring out what type of short film we will make. Thanks for tuning in!

Production Blog- The Final Stretch!

Hello and welcome back blog. It is the final stretch and the complete process of making this short film is now coming to a close. It is a sad realization but at the same time I am so beyond proud of how hard me and my group worked and well as all the time and effort we put into this short film. The group finished filming and now the process of editing has begun. It took three full days of filming in order to get all the scenes for the short film. When Jenna put most of the scenes together in imovie, it came out to be a six minute film. There was so many scenes that needed to be cut out and shortened that she is still working to shorten it as we speak. We used the time in class to brainstorm different sounds that should be used throughout the short film. It was pretty difficult coming up with sounds to use because nothing truly fit the scenes to perfection. While coming up with that, I had a classmate named Jack peer review the short film. At this point the short film was no where near ...

My Critical Reflection

Critical Reflection Link Critical Reflection A level Media Studies How do your products represent social groups or issues? My short film, Shattered Bonds, represents the major issue of mental health struggles that follow being left out in relationships and friendships, that so many people suffer from in the real world. The film highlights the idea that when you feel a sense of hurt in a relationship/friendship it can cause a mental trigger for coping mechanisms such as violence or self harm. Shattered bonds brings awareness to this through the plot. Throughout the film, there are scenes showing one of the teenage girls being left out of the group and feeling a sense of hurt in the fact that nobody is including her in their conversation or activities. These feelings of hurt then revolve into resentment in the film as they do in the real world. These feelings can lead to violence against others as well as self harm. In the film, the girl being left out resorts to killing the girl t...
