My Critical Reflection

Critical Reflection Link Critical Reflection A level Media Studies How do your products represent social groups or issues? My short film, Shattered Bonds, represents the major issue of mental health struggles that follow being left out in relationships and friendships, that so many people suffer from in the real world. The film highlights the idea that when you feel a sense of hurt in a relationship/friendship it can cause a mental trigger for coping mechanisms such as violence or self harm. Shattered bonds brings awareness to this through the plot. Throughout the film, there are scenes showing one of the teenage girls being left out of the group and feeling a sense of hurt in the fact that nobody is including her in their conversation or activities. These feelings of hurt then revolve into resentment in the film as they do in the real world. These feelings can lead to violence against others as well as self harm. In the film, the girl being left out resorts to killing the girl that

I am so beyond sad that everything is now complete and filming is over. It truly was such a blast to be able to film so much with my friends and make a pretty good short film. I will miss the process of filming this short film. There were many ups and downs but overall the experience in A level media has been a fun process and I am proud of how hardworking me and my group were making this short film.

Production Blog- The Final Stretch!

Hello and welcome back blog. It is the final stretch and the complete process of making this short film is now coming to a close. It is a sad realization but at the same time I am so beyond proud of how hard me and my group worked and well as all the time and effort we put into this short film. The group finished filming and now the process of editing has begun. It took three full days of filming in order to get all the scenes for the short film. When Jenna put most of the scenes together in imovie, it came out to be a six minute film. There was so many scenes that needed to be cut out and shortened that she is still working to shorten it as we speak. We used the time in class to brainstorm different sounds that should be used throughout the short film. It was pretty difficult coming up with sounds to use because nothing truly fit the scenes to perfection. While coming up with that, I had a classmate named Jack peer review the short film. At this point the short film was no where near

Production Blog- Finally Finished Filming

Hello and welcome back blog!! I have not updated you in a little while. The group and I had been planning on what day to film and finally it was decided that today would be the day. I have already discussed that everyone has super busy lives and it is a little hard to come up for filming days. Today was the last and final day of filming. It is Monday, March 11 and right when me and my group got out of school at 2:40, we went straight to my house in order to regroup and discuss further scenes that needed to be filmed. After the group got to my house, filming started shortly after. First, I discovered that the amber alert scene needed to be filmed and that was done by changing contact names to the names of the girls in the short films and a voiceover affect of the amber alert saying the name of the girl who is missing. Then, a couple scenes of Ellie trying to call Olivia in the short film and crying, needed to be filmed. After about an hour of completing these scenes, it was then time t
