Welcome back. I believe that this Dunkin Donuts commercial both uses and challenges conventions because the structure as well as the story of my groups commercial is different than traditional Dunkin Donuts commercials that will just show you a slow motion video of donuts falling and coffee being dropped into a cup. The commercial my group and I made has more meaning and connection to the audience which can help sell Dunkin Donuts products even further when viewers relate to the content in the commercial. This commercial can represent social groups and issues because many families do have trouble waking up their kids and this commercial tries to provide a light to those families. The Dunkin Donuts commercial definitely engages with the audience in a very relatable way. The fact that the commercial is based around a mother trying to wake up her two very sleepy kids with Dunkin Donuts is a way to give families that have a hard time waking up their kids, for school or in general, an idea

Welcome back. During the final edits of the commercial, this is how things went. My group and I realized that the editing software called Vimeo did not suit our needs for editing. I had to edit things like transitions and be able to fit each clip into the video to fit transitions in and not miss anything while also fitting the commercial time requirement. We transitioned to editing on the editing software called Capcut. I was trying to find an editing software thats free and easy to use. I realized Capcut is the best for our commercial in what I want to put in it and add to it. Capcut provides me music, transitions, screens, overlapping videos and much more. During editing, the biggest difficulty was making sure that the commercial fit the strict 27-30 second time requirement. At first, the commercial was 40 seconds long. I had to completely remove some clips I thought were not necessary for the point trying to be proven in this commercial. I also had to adjust the length of some clip

Hey again. To continue on with how we produced this commercial, I am going to talk about how and why we chose our props, backgrounds, mood, and tones for this commercial. My group mates and I thought carefully on all the details that would be included in the commercial. One major factor in making a commercial is the background. Background and tone is important because those two things combines are abt to set the mood of the commercial. In this Dunkin' commercial, we were aiming for an up beat commercial to create a happy mood related to Dunkin' products. We used props to create a better idea of Dunkin' and what we are advertising. We used the phone in the commercial for the alarm to go off and wake Omnia and I up although we had to act tired and miserable. I used pillows and blankets to look super comfortable in bed therefore being why I slept through the alarm. I used face wash and hair detangler to show I was getting ready for school with the background being the bathroo

Hello again! For this Dunkin' Donuts commercial, I was one of the actors along with Omnia and Marlo. Harley was the Director and Videographer. My role in this commercial was the main characters, Omnia, sister. In the commercial our alarm went off and Omnia woke up, turned it off, and went back to sleep causing both me and her to oversleep and be late for school. It was pretty easy to act out sleeping but it was hard to keep a straight face having to act out snoring. Marlo, the mom, came in to wake me and omnia up because we were late for school. In the commercial, Omnia and I had to act tired and miserable and at the same time move quickly because were "late" to school. The major transition to show that Dunkin' kept me going was when we had to take a bite of the donut and a sip of the coffee. Omnia and I created the idea for a transition to show us in our pajamas looking terrible and then when ate Dunkin' products, right away were dressed and ready for the day to

Planning Blog

Hey, welcome back! The filming will take place Wednesday, October 5th. We are planning on shooting in the afternoon at Harley’s house. We’re just going to be staying at Harley’s house. We are going to be shooting in a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and the driveway. We will be using donuts from Dunkin’ Donuts and possibly coffee from there as well.  We are going to have a competing brand being Starbucks. In the commercial, we will show that Dunkin’ is the superior Donut and coffee brand. The costumes are going to be pajamas, and normal everyday clothing. If we do not all have the props we need, we can go to several stores near the shooting location to get props that seem like they would further influence the commercial. Stores near the shooting location. Our plan is to try to film within 1 or 2 hours. The backup plan is that if Harley’s house is not available, filming will take place at Natalia’s house. The same shooting procedure will be conducted, it will just be taking place at a diff
