My music video uses and challenges conventions. It uses conventions by following the verdict of the Taylor Swift "You Belong With Me" and following the lyrics of the story about a girl wanting someone that someone else has. My music video challenges conventions by changing the original music video being about a relationship and my group made the music video about friendships. This music video also represents issues like stereotypes about "popular" and "nerdy" groups in high school and average problems teens face with friendships. My music video can really engage the audience because many teens can have friendships that they feel strongly towards and when there is a third person that you believe is better than you or "cooler" than you who is taking away the person you love from you which can hurt your self image in feeling as though you are not good enough. This feeling can really resonate with the audience of my groups music video and is the reas

Hello welcome back! I'm going to talk about my music video's comparison to Taylor Swifts original "You Belong With Me" music video. The conventions of the original music video follow Taylor's exact lyrics more. For example, Taylor says "She's cheer captain and I'm on the bleachers" and in the original music video, the evil Taylor is in a cheer costume while the good Taylor is in a ugly outfit, sitting on the bleachers. This continues throughout the music video. Another convention is that the original music video has to do with a relationship but my group's music video had to do with a friendship. In the original music video, Taylor Swift plays both the good Taylor (a blonde who is singing the song) and the evil Taylor (a brunette that has the guy that the good Taylor wants). In my group's music video, the good Taylor is the good bestfriend played by Omnia and the evil Taylor is the mean bestfriend who is played by Marlo. In the original

Hey welcome back! Throughout filming this music video, it's been very fun to think about all the props and outfits needed to fit the description in the lyrics of the song 'You Belong with me'. Through much consideration, I figured that the outfits of the good Taylor, the evil Taylor, and the best friend in the middle, had to show different personalities and show the social class of each girl. I knew that because evil Taylor is a very popular mean girl, her character should be wearing very preppy and modern outfits. Since the good Taylor is more modest and conservative, her character would be wearing more basic or less sheek outfits. The character playing the best friend in the middle of the evil and good Taylor would be wearing clothing that is in between conservative and modern or both. In the music video, you will be able to see the outfits that were chosen for each scene and be able to tell who is the evil Taylor, good Taylor, and best friend in the middle. For props,

Welcome back! The thought process of developing this music video has definitely evolved the way I think about music videos in general. Due to the filming of this music video, it has shown me what producers are thinking about when it comes to portraying the message and idea of the song. Producers have to think of how they are going to portray this message through just visuals and the lyrics of the music video. I had to think about how the lyrics of the Taylor Swift song 'You Belong with me' could also portray the idea for the music video that my group and I came up with being about a friendship instead of talking about a relationship. Both these things are very similar when it comes to how people can feel about liking someone and that person being with or wanting someone else. Same thing with a friendship, it can hurt when you love your best friends but they are constantly being taken away from anther best friend of theirs. The way that the song 'You Belong with me' port

Hello welcome back! Today, I'm going to talk about how filming went with my group for the music video. On Thursday, the plan worked out good for the girls to come to my house and film the mu sic video. Harley was the videographer and filmed every scene. For the first scenes of the music video, I had to fake cry in order for the scene to come across as me being mad at the evil Taylor. For the setting, During the phone call with the evil and good Taylor, I was filmed in my room and Marlo was being filmed in the guest room of my house so that way it would look like me the good Taylor and I were in different houses. When I called the good Taylor (Omnia) to help me feel better about the evil Taylor and I fighting, she answered the phone and helped me get through it. I had filmed Omnia's part when she was answering my call and I wanted to do a tracking shot so I followed Omnia as she was talking to me on the phone. When the evil Taylor(Marlo) wanted to take me away from the good Tayl

Hello welcome back! In class, I had discussed with the group what the plan is for filming. On my end, there has been some difficulty planning with the group on what day to film because of my electronics being taken away. It was difficult for the group to decide on a day to film but we had a small window to film because of when the production blogs were due. On Mondays and Wednesdays I have golf practice, on Tuesday, Marlo had cheer after school and on Friday, Harley had work after school. I had come up with a day to film the music video being Thursday, December 8 after school. I had to figure out transportation for the other three girls in my group. On Thursday, I will be taking Marlo, Harley, and Omnia home with me from school and will arrive at my house around 3pm. My group and I would have to finish filming before 6pm because there is an important appointment that one of the group members has. Everyone will bring changes of clothes to my house so there will be a quick and smooth fi

Hello welcome back! I am going to discuss what my group and I are planning to do for this music video. When the group and I were brainstorming song ideas, I had came up with doing a Taylor Swift song. I felt that doing "You belong with me" would be a fitting song for us to be able to make a music video to. Although there is no boy in our group to play the 'evil' Taylor's boyfriend also known as the 'good' Taylor's crush, I had suggested ideas such as changing the conventions of the Taylor Swift music video to expressing the song about friendship instead of a relationship. My part will be playing the "boyfriend" in the music video but instead I will be the best friend in the middle and the 'evil' Taylor Swift, the evil best friend, who will be played by Marlo who will taking me away from 'good' Taylor, the good best friend, which is being played by Omnia. I suggested that the two Taylor's and I do outfit changes when we ar
