Planning Blog

 Hey, welcome back! The filming will take place Wednesday, October 5th. We are planning on shooting in the afternoon at Harley’s house. We’re just going to be staying at Harley’s house. We are going to be shooting in a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and the driveway. We will be using donuts from Dunkin’ Donuts and possibly coffee from there as well.  We are going to have a competing brand being Starbucks. In the commercial, we will show that Dunkin’ is the superior Donut and coffee brand. The costumes are going to be pajamas, and normal everyday clothing. If we do not all have the props we need, we can go to several stores near the shooting location to get props that seem like they would further influence the commercial. Stores near the shooting location. Our plan is to try to film within 1 or 2 hours. The backup plan is that if Harley’s house is not available, filming will take place at Natalia’s house. The same shooting procedure will be conducted, it will just be taking place at a different location. Harley will be the primary videographer. Omnia and Natalia are going to be the main actors. They are the teens in the commercial. Marlo is going to play the mother in the commercial. She’s going to be another actor in the commercial. Stay tuned to see how our filming process is going to go. Production Blog- Continuation of filming

 Hello and welcome back blog. It was decided that the new filming date would be Saturday March 2nd. I work from 9-5 that day but I will be going after work to film the night scenes. The only thing I am worried about is when the school scenes are going to be filmed. Very soon, editing and putting together the film needs to begin because it does take a lot of time for this to come together and our deadline is March 15 to have the movie as well as website and postcard completely done. Carleigh is still putting together the website and it is taking a bit longer than I would like because I need the link to make the QR code for my postcard. The plan on Saturday is to film more at night around 6 for it to be dark so we will be able to film the night scenes of the grave as well as when the flashbacks in the short film occur in the dark. Production Blog- Drawbacks

 Hello and welcome back blog! Today was a day of learning and gaining new information on different media studies and theorists. In media today, I learned about media ecology and all the ways it can help us understand filming and how to apply it to our knowledge of media. It was very interesting to learn about and realize how much our society and media has changed over the years and how well communication has transformed things in our modern society. I also discussed with my group that because of my work schedule, it can be difficult to plan what days to film for the final task. I suggested that filming could take place on days that I do not work and everyone is not busy and going to Jenna’s house for filming after school would be a good plan. Weekends are very busy for me and it would be difficult to set an exact day to film for right now. I am so beyond sad that everything is now complete and filming is over. It truly was such a blast to be able to film so much with my friends and make a pretty good short film. I will miss the process of filming this short film. There were many ups and downs but overall the experience in A level media has been a fun process and I am proud of how hardworking me and my group were making this short film.
