Welcome back. During the final edits of the commercial, this is how things went. My group and I realized that the editing software called Vimeo did not suit our needs for editing. I had to edit things like transitions and be able to fit each clip into the video to fit transitions in and not miss anything while also fitting the commercial time requirement. We transitioned to editing on the editing software called Capcut. I was trying to find an editing software thats free and easy to use. I realized Capcut is the best for our commercial in what I want to put in it and add to it. Capcut provides me music, transitions, screens, overlapping videos and much more. During editing, the biggest difficulty was making sure that the commercial fit the strict 27-30 second time requirement. At first, the commercial was 40 seconds long. I had to completely remove some clips I thought were not necessary for the point trying to be proven in this commercial. I also had to adjust the length of some clips and those that were least important I made smaller and those that were more important for was we were advertising I made longest. I used a dissolving transition for when Omnia and I took a bite out of the donut looking completely unready for the day to looking completely ready to leave for school after taking a bite of the donut. During editing, I was thinking of what sound effects could be used to fit the tone and mood of the commercial. The sound effect of a sparkly shining sound was added with the dissolve transition to create a understanding that Omnia and I were ready for school only after taking a but of Dunkin's Donuts. The Final product of the commercial completely edited was 28 seconds. We are still deciding if we want to add background music to the whole commercial. Overall, did not face any major problems editing or filming. Talk soon!
What elements of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have? The main element of the thriller genre that A Quiet Place has it’s the non-diegetic and diegetic sound. It’s mainly used to show what the characters are heading, and to highlight how quiet the world is, because of how loud those small movements are that we don’t tend to notice. Such as walking or placing down something on a shelf. There’s also non-diegetic sound, which is used to build suspense when there’s climax’s of action. My group will use diegetic and non-diegetic sound to also have this element. What elements of the genre did the movie have that you like? In A Quiet Place the monsters that are hunting them are almost never directly shown. They’re shown in blurs and just in sound. You know there is danger, but you don’t know who or what’s behind it. It’s one of the elements my group enjoyed within this movie. It builds the suspense, because you draw your own conclusions and the u...
