Our Genre Decision Blog

On the topic of Thriller, we like that it has a wide range of use. Thriller is filled with built up suspense, and incorporates many different elements. However, an interference would include the time range in which we can film. Thriller is all our best fit and incorporates many elements. Including psychology, action, and crime. On the other hand, thriller is distinguished specifically, which may be confusing to Audiences.

The Mystery genre is filled with suspense. Our group would be interested in this because we feel like it would be fun to film. There are many interesting concepts thats our group could portray with pursing this genre. An inconvenience is that, our group does appropriate costuming to do this genre. Also, we feel like filming an opening with a mystery drama could be more tedious and time consuming.

The Romance genre is a love based. The storyline would be following two main characters as they navigate or create their relationship. Most movies within this genre do not start off with the two characters already together; the movie is normally always about them getting together and falling in love at the end. The love plot is hard to show within two minutes. Romance movies are believable when there’s chemistry between the characters. Chemistry would be lacking within the group because of the actors having their respective partners.

Under much consideration, we have chosen the Thriller genre. This genre is overall what we are looking for in filming this final task. We are well equipped for this genre and have ideas and research ready.

Production Blog- The Final Stretch!

Hello and welcome back blog. It is the final stretch and the complete process of making this short film is now coming to a close. It is a sad realization but at the same time I am so beyond proud of how hard me and my group worked and well as all the time and effort we put into this short film. The group finished filming and now the process of editing has begun. It took three full days of filming in order to get all the scenes for the short film. When Jenna put most of the scenes together in imovie, it came out to be a six minute film. There was so many scenes that needed to be cut out and shortened that she is still working to shorten it as we speak. We used the time in class to brainstorm different sounds that should be used throughout the short film. It was pretty difficult coming up with sounds to use because nothing truly fit the scenes to perfection. While coming up with that, I had a classmate named Jack peer review the short film. At this point the short film was no where near ...

My Critical Reflection

Critical Reflection Link Critical Reflection A level Media Studies How do your products represent social groups or issues? My short film, Shattered Bonds, represents the major issue of mental health struggles that follow being left out in relationships and friendships, that so many people suffer from in the real world. The film highlights the idea that when you feel a sense of hurt in a relationship/friendship it can cause a mental trigger for coping mechanisms such as violence or self harm. Shattered bonds brings awareness to this through the plot. Throughout the film, there are scenes showing one of the teenage girls being left out of the group and feeling a sense of hurt in the fact that nobody is including her in their conversation or activities. These feelings of hurt then revolve into resentment in the film as they do in the real world. These feelings can lead to violence against others as well as self harm. In the film, the girl being left out resorts to killing the girl t...
