The Pitch Desicion

Our first pitch idea: A young woman moves into her new home, but what she does not know, is that she is not alone.

Our second pitch idea: A male recently diagnosed with a terminal disease, find reason to keep living. His Nurse gives him hope through love, However, time is ticking.

The first pitch explanation – We are interested in the first pitch because the concept itself is remarkably interesting. When hearing about the project, we all first went to this idea. There are also certain circumstances that make this filming easy. It would be shot in a new home, which one member of the group is moving into a new home. We all discussed our roles in this film, which makes us more interested in acting in it.

The second pitch explanation - We are interested in the second pitch because there are so many ways this story can be portrayed. This idea has several ways it can be executed. We have decided that it would be more difficult to film this story. When telling a story about a nurse and a patient, it would make sense that it would be shot in a hospital. We do not have access to a hospital to film, thus making this pitch inconvenient for us. A male is also needed to make this film.

We decided to choose the first pitch because we prefer this pitch, and it is easier and more convenient to film. This pitch allows us to film at Natalia’s house, which would fit perfectly for this idea.

Production Blog- The Final Stretch!

Hello and welcome back blog. It is the final stretch and the complete process of making this short film is now coming to a close. It is a sad realization but at the same time I am so beyond proud of how hard me and my group worked and well as all the time and effort we put into this short film. The group finished filming and now the process of editing has begun. It took three full days of filming in order to get all the scenes for the short film. When Jenna put most of the scenes together in imovie, it came out to be a six minute film. There was so many scenes that needed to be cut out and shortened that she is still working to shorten it as we speak. We used the time in class to brainstorm different sounds that should be used throughout the short film. It was pretty difficult coming up with sounds to use because nothing truly fit the scenes to perfection. While coming up with that, I had a classmate named Jack peer review the short film. At this point the short film was no where near ...

My Critical Reflection

Critical Reflection Link Critical Reflection A level Media Studies How do your products represent social groups or issues? My short film, Shattered Bonds, represents the major issue of mental health struggles that follow being left out in relationships and friendships, that so many people suffer from in the real world. The film highlights the idea that when you feel a sense of hurt in a relationship/friendship it can cause a mental trigger for coping mechanisms such as violence or self harm. Shattered bonds brings awareness to this through the plot. Throughout the film, there are scenes showing one of the teenage girls being left out of the group and feeling a sense of hurt in the fact that nobody is including her in their conversation or activities. These feelings of hurt then revolve into resentment in the film as they do in the real world. These feelings can lead to violence against others as well as self harm. In the film, the girl being left out resorts to killing the girl t...
