Welcome back! Hope everyone is doing fine on this lovely day. So... editing! Let us get into it. To start off editing, as you know, I had to find sounds that were royalty free and would be a good background sound for the whole opening sequence. I went on youtube and found a sound that is a bit eerie and creepy and fits perfectly into this film. Next, title cards. Throughout the opening sequence, I included all the title cards in a font that is not normally used because it is more ugly and creepy which I think adds to the idea of the film. When editing, there was a scene that my group and I forgot to film and so I had to go to my car at 11pm and turn on my car alarm and get a video of me turning it off. It was meant to be Omnia turning off the car alarm being the actor in the movie but because this scene was forgotten till last minute, I had to go out and do it and it came out good. Editing has been a little hard because there has been very bad weather in Florida causing for much flooding and schools been canceled so editing ideas have had to be shared over the phone and it was a little more difficult but my group and I were able to work through it. Lastly, some transitions and small effects like black screens and blur effects were added just to give some scenes a little more depth. Overall, the editing process went smoothly for the most part. Filming this whole project was very fun and I had a great time with my group throughout it all. Thanks for coming on the journey with me and I can not wait to show you the final product next time!
The mystery short film I watched was Party to Murder by Strobie Studios. The actors gathered together at this old style mansion to play a game of murder mystery while at a masked party. Will they play a harmless game or is the reality of death knocking on their front door? The director included a plot twist which is what ultimately made the short film a good watch. At the beginning of the film the director used upbeat music and close up angles of a couple dressed in fancy attire. The upbeat music explained the mood of the couple, as they were laughing and excited for their upcoming party. However as the car approached the home the music took a turn for the dark. The music began to speed up and the musical notes selection became very ominous. A big tactic used in mysteries especially murder mysteries in plot twists. Plot twists leave the audience highly surprised making it the best way to recapture a viewer's attention. Nobody wants to sit through a movie where every scene is easi...
