Welcome back everyone! I wanted to address an important part of filming being safety. There were a few safety precautions made to ensure filming went smoothly and nobody got hurt. First, let's talk about the scene of Omnia walking back from the car with boxes in hands. In this scene, what the group and I wanted to do was to actually have a scene of her driving the car but it was decided that it would be dangerous and it would be better to just have viewers assume she drove the car to the house with her moving boxes. This was a smart choice because the film still looks good and is understandable without having to take such a safety risk. Additionally, there were scenes included of the killer (Harley) holding an extremely sharp and big chef knife. The only reason for the massive size of this knife was to give the real dramatic effect that most thriller movies give and give the viewer a more scary and suspenseful feeling the scarier the weapon is. The safety precaution that was taken for this was a first aid kit nearby just incase during the stabbing scene it cut Omnia or if Harley accidentally dropped it on her foot, there would be everything needed instantly. Lastly, there was a pool scene of Omnia being "stabbed" and pushed into the pool. Although this could be unsafe, I made sure Omnia was a good swimmer and the pool was not deep so she was able to reach the bottom with her feet. During the stabbing scene of Omnia falling into the pool, the group made sure Harley did not actually stab or hurt Omnia in the process. Overall, everything went smoothly and nobody got hurt thankfully! Talk more next time.
The mystery short film I watched was Party to Murder by Strobie Studios. The actors gathered together at this old style mansion to play a game of murder mystery while at a masked party. Will they play a harmless game or is the reality of death knocking on their front door? The director included a plot twist which is what ultimately made the short film a good watch. At the beginning of the film the director used upbeat music and close up angles of a couple dressed in fancy attire. The upbeat music explained the mood of the couple, as they were laughing and excited for their upcoming party. However as the car approached the home the music took a turn for the dark. The music began to speed up and the musical notes selection became very ominous. A big tactic used in mysteries especially murder mysteries in plot twists. Plot twists leave the audience highly surprised making it the best way to recapture a viewer's attention. Nobody wants to sit through a movie where every scene is easi...
