Group Blog

Hey there! The people in my groups names are Marlo, Omnia, and Harley. I wanted to pair up with them for this project because they are very hard working and they have a strong work drive just like me. Ive been friends with Omnia for 5 years and I know her so well. Ive been friends with Marlo for a year and shes the sweetest and has always had my back. Ive been friends with Harley for 2 months and she has been so sweet to me and has made me so comfortable to talk to her about anything. They are all so sweet and I love being able to completely be myself around them. We are planning to film at my house but if anything happens we will film at Harley's house. We are intending to film a Taylor Swift music video. All of us live pretty close to each other which makes it more convenient to be able to film outside of school. By pairing up with these girls, I know that there will not be a person that will be doing more or less work than anyone else. We each have our own work style and skill that will be able to help us make this commercial. I believe this project is going to bring us closer and be able to all get to know one another better. We all get along very well and we are able to have disagreements without creating arguments. My group and I have similar classes so we all know the type of workload we have and can work around that in order to find time to plan and film. I can definitely tell this project and year is going to be very fun and our creativity is going to be able to flow nicely. We are excited to make this "You belong with me" Taylor Swift music video. It was nice talking to you.

Production Blog- The Final Stretch!

Hello and welcome back blog. It is the final stretch and the complete process of making this short film is now coming to a close. It is a sad realization but at the same time I am so beyond proud of how hard me and my group worked and well as all the time and effort we put into this short film. The group finished filming and now the process of editing has begun. It took three full days of filming in order to get all the scenes for the short film. When Jenna put most of the scenes together in imovie, it came out to be a six minute film. There was so many scenes that needed to be cut out and shortened that she is still working to shorten it as we speak. We used the time in class to brainstorm different sounds that should be used throughout the short film. It was pretty difficult coming up with sounds to use because nothing truly fit the scenes to perfection. While coming up with that, I had a classmate named Jack peer review the short film. At this point the short film was no where near ...

My Critical Reflection

Critical Reflection Link Critical Reflection A level Media Studies How do your products represent social groups or issues? My short film, Shattered Bonds, represents the major issue of mental health struggles that follow being left out in relationships and friendships, that so many people suffer from in the real world. The film highlights the idea that when you feel a sense of hurt in a relationship/friendship it can cause a mental trigger for coping mechanisms such as violence or self harm. Shattered bonds brings awareness to this through the plot. Throughout the film, there are scenes showing one of the teenage girls being left out of the group and feeling a sense of hurt in the fact that nobody is including her in their conversation or activities. These feelings of hurt then revolve into resentment in the film as they do in the real world. These feelings can lead to violence against others as well as self harm. In the film, the girl being left out resorts to killing the girl t...
