The opening credits will appear in a font that adds to the thriller atmosphere like a “spooky/ horrifying” font in bold letters across the screen. Most credits will be photoshopped into the scene and many will be embedded into the background. We came up with this title because of the pitch and what the movie is going to be about with a killer watching a girls every move.

◦ Working title: the title for this movie is likely to be “Behind You”

◦ it will be in bold lettering:

◦ Titles will fade in a scene and fade out

◦ Titles will disappear within 2 to 3 seconds

◦ The color scheme of the title cards will be white and black

◦ The card of the main title of the movie will be twice as large as the rest of the words

Movie Conventions Research: A Quiet Place

What elements of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have? The main element of the thriller genre that A Quiet Place has it’s the non-diegetic and diegetic sound. It’s mainly used to show what the characters are heading, and to highlight how quiet the world is, because of how loud those small movements are that we don’t tend to notice. Such as walking or placing down something on a shelf. There’s also non-diegetic sound, which is used to build suspense when there’s climax’s of action. My group will use diegetic and non-diegetic sound to also have this element. What elements of the genre did the movie have that you like? In A Quiet Place the monsters that are hunting them are almost never directly shown. They’re shown in blurs and just in sound. You know there is danger, but you don’t know who or what’s behind it.
