Production Blog

 Welcome back! I am going to discuss some of the things that were used in filming this final task. One thing I suggested to be used in this project as a prop is a scary mask as well as a black coverup and some gloves for the killer to wear to make this opening sequence scarier have the costume fit the vibe of a killer. Another prop that was essential in having for this project was a big knife. The knife would be the object used to kill the woman. Along with the knife, I suggested the idea of having fake blood. Although it is not one hundred percent necessary, I liked the idea of it in order to make the killing look more real. The outfits that were suggested for each character was different but limited because not too many clothes could be brought to school by my group mates. The two girls in the film were wearing pretty normal basic outfits that fit the idea of the movie. I suggested that Omnia bring a bathing suit so that way when I would film her falling into the pool after she gets stabbed, it would be more comfortable and fit the scene of her sitting by the pool with her best friend in the film. Although I did want a role in this film, there was not enough time in the day to film a scene that I would be able to be in and it would completely go against the storyboard. I decided to stick to filming the whole project and help throughout the editing process. There were many laughs during filming and overall I had a very fun day filming this project. It took a total of 4 hours to film mainly because my group had to film some scenes in the day and then wait for the sun to go down and film the rest of the scenes at night.   The mystery short film I watched was Party to Murder by Strobie Studios. The actors gathered together at this old style mansion to play a game of murder mystery while at a masked party. Will they play a harmless game or is the reality of death knocking on their front door? The director included a plot twist which is what ultimately made the short film a good watch. Short Film Research: The Last Note

    Short film reasearch: ( The Last Note/Mystery) Hey blogg. Today we will be discussing an award-winning mystery short film called "The Last Note" and pointing out different features within this film. For some background, the film begins with David driving to lake while taking about leaving his wife and all his problems with her. Then David is seen with a body bag which is Catherine and dumps her in a lake. He does this due to catching ehr cheating on him the night before. Once David returns home, he starts drinking a liquor while reading a book named Murder. In the book, there was a note from Catherine and as he reads to there are flashbacks to her putting posion in the bottle. He then relazies as she write “sorry I had to do this , goodbye David” and he passes away. My Critical Reflection

  Critical Reflection Link Critical Reflection A level Media Studies How do your products represent social groups or issues? My short film, Shattered Bonds, represents the major issue of mental health struggles that follow being left out in relationships and friendships, that so many people suffer from in the real world. The film highlights the idea that when you feel a sense of hurt in a relationship/friendship it can cause a mental trigger for coping mechanisms such as violence or self harm. Shattered bonds brings awareness to this through the plot. Throughout the film, there are scenes showing one of the teenage girls being left out of the group and feeling a sense of hurt in the fact that nobody is including her in their conversation or activities.
