Production Blog

 Welcome back! I am going to discuss some of the things that were used in filming this final task. One thing I suggested to be used in this project as a prop is a scary mask as well as a black coverup and some gloves for the killer to wear to make this opening sequence scarier have the costume fit the vibe of a killer. Another prop that was essential in having for this project was a big knife. The knife would be the object used to kill the woman. Along with the knife, I suggested the idea of having fake blood. Although it is not one hundred percent necessary, I liked the idea of it in order to make the killing look more real. The outfits that were suggested for each character was different but limited because not too many clothes could be brought to school by my group mates. The two girls in the film were wearing pretty normal basic outfits that fit the idea of the movie. I suggested that Omnia bring a bathing suit so that way when I would film her falling into the pool after she gets stabbed, it would be more comfortable and fit the scene of her sitting by the pool with her best friend in the film. Although I did want a role in this film, there was not enough time in the day to film a scene that I would be able to be in and it would completely go against the storyboard. I decided to stick to filming the whole project and help throughout the editing process. There were many laughs during filming and overall I had a very fun day filming this project. It took a total of 4 hours to film mainly because my group had to film some scenes in the day and then wait for the sun to go down and film the rest of the scenes at night. Short vs. full length film research

  BLOG 1: Comparing 9, the short film, and the full-length movie  Hey Blogg, our group will be discussing the short version of the film "9" and the full-length version along with comparing both of them.  Short film version: None of our group members had ever seen this movie and seeing it for the first time it was different, unlike something we had ever seen before. First off, there was no dialogue throughout the whole film. This causes us to pay even more attention to what was happening throughout the film to better understand what was going on. For this specific short film, the plot was less obvious and required higher thinking skills as all that is given are the scenes. We understood the plot at the nearing the end of the movie. My Critical Reflection

  Critical Reflection Link Critical Reflection A level Media Studies How do your products represent social groups or issues? My short film, Shattered Bonds, represents the major issue of mental health struggles that follow being left out in relationships and friendships, that so many people suffer from in the real world. The film highlights the idea that when you feel a sense of hurt in a relationship/friendship it can cause a mental trigger for coping mechanisms such as violence or self harm. Shattered bonds brings awareness to this through the plot. Throughout the film, there are scenes showing one of the teenage girls being left out of the group and feeling a sense of hurt in the fact that nobody is including her in their conversation or activities. These feelings of hurt then revolve into resentment in the film as they do in the real world. These feelings can lead to violence against others as well as self harm.
