Production Blog- Discussing Filming plans

Hello blog and welcome back! I am so very excited to be filming soon with my group. For the filming date being set February 25, i might need to discuss with my group a change in time. On this day being sunday, I work a full time job while also balancing school and school projects. On the 25th, I believe I do have work because my job is understaffed and it is much harder to be able to get days off. I would need to discuss with them maybe a better day that we would have most of the daylight to film. I want to make sure we enjoy it as much as possible. On the 10th of February, me and the girls are going to Jenna’s house for a galentines gathering and we thought it would be a great idea to get a little filming done during this time. The gathering is when the sun goes down so I am planning to film night scenes in our short film during this time. It works well because there will be outfit changes throughout the short film to really make it look like our scenes are in different days and different hours of the day. I do not want the short film to be only one outfit and sunlight the entire time. I want to give the audience the view that our short film is in the span of a couple days or weeks to give a better understanding of whats going on. I am so excited to film this short film because I really do love the mystery genre and it is something I have not really done before. I think it is so cool to gain knowledge and experience trying new things and stepping out of your comfort zone. So far everything is going very smoothly and everyone is super excited to film. The hardest part about this is picking what date to film because everyone has such busy lives with studying, having other plans, and work in general. I again do need to discuss with my group if the 25th is still a good filming day due to work kind of messing with the schedule. Thank you for listening and see you shortly with the next blog.

Production Blog- The Final Stretch!

Hello and welcome back blog. It is the final stretch and the complete process of making this short film is now coming to a close. It is a sad realization but at the same time I am so beyond proud of how hard me and my group worked and well as all the time and effort we put into this short film. The group finished filming and now the process of editing has begun. It took three full days of filming in order to get all the scenes for the short film. When Jenna put most of the scenes together in imovie, it came out to be a six minute film. There was so many scenes that needed to be cut out and shortened that she is still working to shorten it as we speak. We used the time in class to brainstorm different sounds that should be used throughout the short film. It was pretty difficult coming up with sounds to use because nothing truly fit the scenes to perfection. While coming up with that, I had a classmate named Jack peer review the short film. At this point the short film was no where near ...

My Critical Reflection

Critical Reflection Link Critical Reflection A level Media Studies How do your products represent social groups or issues? My short film, Shattered Bonds, represents the major issue of mental health struggles that follow being left out in relationships and friendships, that so many people suffer from in the real world. The film highlights the idea that when you feel a sense of hurt in a relationship/friendship it can cause a mental trigger for coping mechanisms such as violence or self harm. Shattered bonds brings awareness to this through the plot. Throughout the film, there are scenes showing one of the teenage girls being left out of the group and feeling a sense of hurt in the fact that nobody is including her in their conversation or activities. These feelings of hurt then revolve into resentment in the film as they do in the real world. These feelings can lead to violence against others as well as self harm. In the film, the girl being left out resorts to killing the girl t...
